Women and Small Business Support

At LLG, we recognise that empowering women is key to building stronger, more resilient communities. Many women we work with have the passion and determination to start their own businesses, yet face barriers such as limited financial support and access to resources. To bridge this gap, LLG has introduced a program that provides micro-grants and mentorship for women entrepreneurs in fields like food processing and tailoring. By fostering economic independence, this initiative not only supports individual livelihoods but also strengthens entire communities.

Entrepreneurship Training & Mentorship

LLG partnered with Rimaz Mazrook, Chief Executive Officer at AFI Corp—a seasoned corporate consultant, trainer, and sustainability advocate with over 7 years of experience—to guide aspiring women entrepreneurs.

As the first step, participants received training and mentorship on starting and sustaining small businesses, including the development of business plans and proposals. This hands-on guidance helped women shape their ideas into viable entrepreneurial ventures.

In the next stage, participants submitted their proposals to LLG for review. Each proposal was carefully evaluated by Mr. Mazrook, who provided personalized, constructive feedback to strengthen and refine their business strategies.

Micro-Grants & Sustainable Impact

Empowering women with the resources and support to turn ideas into thriving, sustainable businesses.

From the submitted proposals, one winner was selected to receive initial capital investment along with continued mentorship to launch and grow her business. With LLG’s support, she successfully resumed and expanded her enterprise, boosting supply capacity while diversifying her products.

This success story highlights the transformative potential of LLG’s initiatives in empowering women and strengthening community resilience.

Looking ahead, LLG aims to make this an annual program with donor support, reaching more women each year. A series of workshops will also be introduced to build long-term capacity, equipping women with the skills needed to not only start but also sustain and scale their businesses.
